Free Online House Planner

Sketch a basic floor plan — walls, doors, windows, room labels and measurements — then switch to a full 3D view and orbit around your design. No CAD software, no experience needed.

Materials & Colours

These choices colour your 3D view and are listed on your downloadable spec sheet. Interior lining doesn’t render outside the model but is recorded for your builder.

How it works

  • Set your scale — tell the planner how many metres each grid square represents.
  • Draw your walls — click and drag to lay out the rooms.
  • Add doors and windows — click and drag along a wall to mark an opening, complete with a door swing symbol.
  • Label your rooms — click anywhere to add a room name.
  • Add measurements — click and drag between two points to label a distance in metres.
  • Pick your materials and colours — choose a roof type and colour, exterior cladding, windows, doors and interior lining from the Materials & Colours panel.
  • Switch to 3D — click “3D View” to see your plan extruded into a full 3D model, complete with a real roof, wall openings, a swinging door, and glazed windows in your chosen colours. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.
  • Download your plan — enter your email to unlock an instant download: a PDF with your plan image and a full spec sheet, or a PNG image on its own. Nothing is emailed to you; the file downloads straight to your device.

Why use a free house planner?

Full CAD packages and paid floor-plan tools are overkill for sketching out a basic layout — and most charge a monthly subscription just to try. This one is free, with proper architectural symbols for walls, doors and windows, a genuine 3D extrusion with a real roof so you can see how the space will feel, and a materials and colour picker so you can try out different looks before committing. Rough out room layouts, check that furniture and walkways will fit, and share a clear plan and spec sheet with a builder or designer before committing to anything more detailed.

It’s not a replacement for a licensed architect or a full CAD package — it’s a fast way to get your ideas down on a clear, shareable plan, in both 2D and 3D.
